ASTRONOMY 11-12 (Course # ): Astronomy is designed for the student who is interested in space exploration; planetary characteristics, mythology, and stars. It is the intent of the course to discuss and discover basic astronomical concepts and discover how they relate to the world around us and to potential jobs in the field of Astronomy. The course may require a few trips outside of the normal class time or setting order to demonstrate classroom concepts in the real world. Experiences may include the utilization of a planetarium. Evaluation will be based on participation in class activities , lab work, discussion, textbook assignments, tests, quizzes, and a final exam. Prerequisites: Successful completion of Earth and Space Science and Biology. Credit Value: 1/2 credit per semester = 1 credit for the school year.
