GIVING TREE

Dear Parent/Guardian:

It is that time of year again, where the Christmas holiday is fast approaching.  The Giving Tree is an organization whereby gifts are purchased and distributed to families in need of assistance to keep the Holiday “merry” for their children. Residents of Canton Area School District are fortunate enough to have local citizens and businesses that donate money to the Giving Tree and make possible gifts for children.   Many families are unable to provide necessary items (coats, gloves, hats, boots, etc.), let alone a toy or two for their children.

If your family has found themselves in this situation this year, please fill out the application below and return it to the school.  Deadline for applications is November 6, 2023.  Applications will be reviewed and you will be contacted regarding the needs of your family. Please list your child’s needs and their requests – our shoppers don’t know your children and want to provide things they will enjoy. Examples of needed items include: socks, underwear, pajamas, slippers, robes, pants, shirts, etc. specific sizes are important.  Examples of requests: barbies, dolls, matchbox cars, dumptrucks, dinosaurs, specific types of crafts, specific fishing supplies, drawing supplies, etc.  Requests for electronic items will not be granted.)

Participants in the Giving Tree must not be receiving gifts from any other organizations, and must be residents and / or students of CASD.  Also, receiving gifts from this program in previous years, does not guarantee approval this year.

If you have any questions, please phone 570-673-3191.  Thank you!
